Where a new face becomes a friend

Do you ever feel lost in church? There are so many people it’s hard to connect with them. How do you get to know people with whom you can be friends, pray, share and spend free time?

At Trinity Evangelical Free those places are our small groups. These groups are more than just Sunday School classes and home Bible Studies; Small Groups are designed to help build long term friendships, sharing and server others around us.  It’s where a new face becomes a friend.

What Values do Small Groups Have?

Socialize Together—Being in a small group is being with friends who care about you. A significant part of any time together is spending developing those friendships. In addition to regularly scheduled times together, groups get join together for recreation, relaxation and service on a regular basis.

Study the Word—Studying God's Word together is a foundational piece of each small group.  As God grows us to become more like him, we grow closer to one another.

Support Each Other—Small Groups care for those inside and outside their group through prayer, encouragement, and in practical ways as needs arise.

Serving Our Church + Community—Small Groups aren't all about us.  Groups use the strength of their relationships to serve our church and community.

Seek the Lost—Small Groups are never closed.  Friends are always welcome.  We want to introduce others to Christ through our small group families.

Why Trinity has Small Groups?

At Trinity we value people. God didn’t design us to live for Him on our own. He gave each one of us Christian friends for encouragement and support for life. In our fast paced culture we need those friendships now more than ever.  Our desire is that everyone in Trinity is a regular part of one a one of these groups.

How is are Small Groups Different from a Bible Study?

Small groups are more than just studying the Bible. Rather than just studying the Bible and learning the imperatives of how God desires us to live, small groups help us challenge one another to make our aspirations a reality.

Does Being in a Small Group Exclude me from any other part of the church?

No, the purpose of small groups is to help include you in other parts of the church.  Being part of a small group is one of the best steps you can take to help you develop relationships with your church family.

What Happens in a Regular Small Group Meeting?

Specific group formats will vary, but they have some common elements which include informal conversation over refreshments, prayer requests being shared and prayed for, and announcements. The last part of the class is an interactive teaching time.

When do Small Groups Meet?

Groups will meet on Sunday before worship; however, meeting times are chosen by groups for what best suites their specific group needs.

Will I have to Commit?

No, you can feel free to try a small group with absolutely no strings attached. If a group doesn’t fit, feel free to try others until you find one that you connect with.

Is there a Small Group for My Age?

The age brackets for groups are approximate.  We encourage everyone to be a part of a group which they feel is most appropriate for their stage of life.
